Amphibians are cold-blooded or exothermic animals and have moist, scales skin that helps them in absorbing water and oxygen. They belongs to phylum Chordata; 3 subgroups are Anura, Urodela and Apoda. They are vertebrates and spend atleast part of their lives in water or land. Their skin is permeable through which molecules and gases can pass through. The mouth is usually large with small teeth in upper or both jaws and two nostrils open into anterior part of mouth cavity. They have a three chambered heart consisting two atria and one ventricle. Larvae develops in water or very moist environment and undergo complete metamorphosis.
